The Nest

We have a small but successful specialist unit for those children with complex special educational needs and disabilities – “The Nest”  which offers an individualised curriculum adhering to the needs of all the children in this class.

Over the years, we noticed an increasing demand for supporting children with significant and complex needs. In 2022, we made the decision to open the resourced provision to provide a low stimulus environment where our children could receive a high level of support with a 1:2 ratio, as well as a dedicated safe outdoor space.

We created a safe, calm and sensory friendly environment to cater for our children. The team are highly trained and experienced and work closely with other specialist settings, schools and professionals to seek advice on how to best support our children and their families.

Spaces are limited in the unit and allocation of placement is assessed by an LCC Early Notification SEND officer and decided by a group at placement panel. Children have to meet a certain criteria to gain a place.
