At Chatham Nursery School we are committed to ensuring that all our children thrive and learn, making the most of their time with us.
Attendance
- Children are expected to attend all of their allocated sessions, as regular attendance is vital for learning and development.
- If your child is unwell, please keep them at home to recover. Children who require medication such as Calpol before attending are often not well enough to participate fully in a busy nursery environment.
- If your child is absent, please contact the school office on 0151 233 1201 on the first day of absence and provide a reason.
- If we do not receive notification of an absence, we will contact parents/carers and, where necessary, emergency contacts to ensure your child is safe.
Safeguarding and Unexplained Absences
Children’s safety is our highest priority. If a child is absent without explanation:
- The class teacher will make contact on the first day of absence.
- If we remain unable to make contact, further follow-up will take place.
- A home visit may be carried out by members of the Senior Leadership Team.
- If concerns remain and no explanation is provided, appropriate safeguarding procedures may be followed.
Punctuality
Arriving and leaving on time helps children settle into nursery routines and make the most of their learning experiences.
