Our Sensory Room is equipped and designed to create a stimulating and yet calming atmosphere. There are bubble tubes, special lighting with a projector to cast slow-moving images or colours around the walls, there are fibre-optic spray star lights and a mirror ball. A choice of music and sounds can be piped through from the reception area. Panels with a variety of textures such as rough surfaces, stiff bristles, smooth or contoured mirrors, or soft and squishy items are also included. Activity walls have been custom built to provide a range of tactile, as well as electronic audio-visual stimulation. Small groups access the sensory room throughout the week to support emotional regulation and help children who feel overwhelmed or anxious, to develop sensory processing skills, improve social skills and encourage exploration and l.earning
