Early Years Pupil Premium
The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is extra funding for early years providers in Liverpool to improve the education they offer to disadvantaged children.
The Early Years Pupil Premium is designed to narrow the attainment gap between young children from low-income families and their peers by improving the resources, equipment and learning experiences to benefit the growth and development of eligible children.
Targeted Support for Vulnerable Children
EYPP enables Chatham Nursery School to offer tailored interventions, such as speech and language support, social-emotional development and enriched learning experiences which helps close the attainment gap early.
Promoting Fair Access to Quality Education
By allocating resources based on need, EYPP ensures that children from low-income families have equitable access to high-quality early education, which is critical for long-term academic and social success.
Breaking the Cycle of Disadvantage
Early investment in disadvantaged children helps mitigate the effects of poverty and social exclusion, fostering resilience and better life chances. This aligns with equity principles by addressing systemic barriers early on.
Empowering Practitioners
EYPP funding allows us to receive training and resources to better support diverse needs, ensuring inclusive practices that benefit all children, especially those at risk of falling behind.
Accountability and Impact
We monitor the impact of EYPP funding on our children termly through pupil progress meetings, and report to governors on how the funding is being used to improve outcomes and the impact of this.
