At Chatham Nursery School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our curriculum is enriched through innovative, hands-on experiences that nurture the whole child and support their development in meaningful ways.
We are proud to offer a wide range of co-curricular opportunities that enhance our children’s learning and well-being. These include:
- Weekly PE sessions that promote physical development and teamwork
- Weekly Forest School sessions that foster resilience, curiosity, and a love for nature
- Weekly “Time to Sign” sessions where children learn British Sign Language (BSL) through songs and rhymes, supporting inclusive communication and language development
- Weekly Year 5 Reading Buddies from St Hugh’s Primary School encouraging intergenerational learning and literacy
- Regular visits to Woolton Acre Retirement Home building empathy and community connections
- Local outings via our nursery minibus, helping children explore and engage with the world around them
In addition, children in our specialist SEND provision, The Nest, benefit from weekly visits to local parks and shops. These experiences are carefully designed to support the development of social, emotional, and life skills in real-world settings.
