At Chatham Nursery School, we’re committed to offering support as early as possible.

Our Family Help offer is a gentle, strengths-based approach that helps us understand what support might be helpful for your family.

We work together with you and any professionals involved with your child to ensure the right help is in place. If additional services are needed, we’ll guide you through the process and help you access them.

Some examples of Family Help that we can offer:

  • Support making referrals to outside agencies and support with making appointments
  • Making links with children’s centres
  • Support around parenting skills (toileting, eating, sleeping)
  • Support accessing resources such as food, clothing, furniture
  • Help completing paperwork
  • Advice and support in promoting positive behaviour at home.
  • A home visit for every child
  • Link Health Visitor who liases with our team regularly to offer advice and support.
  • We work closely with other professionals such as the Educational Psychology service to provide a solution focused problem solving model for children in crisis.
  • The school’s SENDCO organises meetings for parents so they have opportunities to discuss their child and learn about the local SEND offer.
